In 1898, a sporting club was set up at Panihati, named Panihati Friends’ Football Club. In 1917, it was renamed as Panihati Sporting Club. Famous football players and sports personalities associated with centenary old club : Sri Sanat Sett, Swaraj Ghosh, Bali Sadukhan, Nirmal Sett, Kalyan Chanda etc.
In 1932, a sporting club was set up near Panihati Baromandir Ghat, named as Panihati Boys’ Sporting Club. In 1954, it was merged with Panihati Sporting Club.
In 1900, a sporting club was set up at Sukchar named Sukchar Union Football Club.
On 12th January, 1919 a sporting club was set up at Agarpara named Vivekananda Samity. In 1949 this club had got the affiliation from the District Sports Authority.
In 1982, a 800 seated stadium was set up by the Panihati Municipality.
In 1937, a sports organization was set up named North Subarban Sporting Association. In 1940-41, it was renamed as 24 Parganas District Sports Authority.
In 1970, a sporting club was set up at Sukchar Gopal Chatterjee Road named Sukchar Shishu Uddan Club.
On 20th January, 1974 a sports organization was set up at Sodepur School Road named District Women Sports Authority.
